Adam Rusa has a diverse background spanning underwriting, finance, and economic research, acquired through his tenure with renowned institutions across Latin America and Africa. Graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Finance, Rusa has navigated various sectors of the financial industry, accruing invaluable knowledge and insights along the way.
During his tenure at Reaseguradora Patria, the largest reinsurer in Latin America, Rusa was integral to a team that successfully underwrote $120 million in reinsurance contracts across the region. This experience provided him with valuable insights into risk assessment and financial analysis within the landscape of the reinsurance industry.
Subsequently, Rusa transitioned to a role as an analyst at Grupo Pena Verde's investment division, with assets under management(AUM) totaling $1.2 billion. Here, he further developed his skills in portfolio management, investment analysis, and market research. Specifically, Rusa played a pivotal role in analyzing the equity and alternative investment portfolio, contributing to informed decision-making and strategic investment initiatives within the organization.
Rusa has had Central Banking experience in Uganda and in Mexico. At the Central Bank of Mexico, Rusa had the privilege of working closely under the guidance of the Deputy Governor, Irene Espinosa. His responsibilities included conducting in-depth research to inform interest rate decisions for Mexico, demonstrating his proficiency in economic analysis and monetary policy. Additionally, Rusa completed a brief internship program at the Central Bank of Uganda, where he rotated through various departments, including the forex desk, monetary policy division, and economic research unit. These experiences provided him with valuable insights into central banking operations and policies across different contexts.
